Surely dressing up as OBL and getting to the block of the hotel where George Bush is staying has to be the funniest moment of this entire APEC drama. We looked like a crazy police state to the world, protecting the most hated man in the world (Bush) until the Chasers stunt lightened the atmosphere to show the world we still have a sense of humour even if our government is nuts at the moment.

The Chaser comedy crew's Osama bin Laden security prank at APEC has created international headlines.
In the US, the embarrassing security breach, in which the satirists drove a fake motorcade through security checkpoints to close to President George W Bush's Sydney hotel, got mixed reviews.

I think it is hilarious that some people think that police were frightened, do they think that OBL would just turn up with his 'insecurity team' to bomb everyone.

I thought it was hilarious and apparently Jules and Chas can get up to 6 months jail not to forget the crew. I think it is disgusting how the politicians are acting and some freakist paranoid people who think they should be admonished for what they did. They are definitely funny this was definitely their finest prank and we should all move on.
By the way for those who think that they should be admonished, Australia doesn't live life dictated by terrorist alerts. We don't let terrorism dictate our way of life and if anyone tried to change that, we'd fight for our right to live a good relaxed life.

thats the funniest thing to happen all week, with all the @ss kissin on the stage and all that back slapping and self praise its good to see the Chasers make them all look lke a bunch of wankers. The Americans cant find the real osama cos they are too far up each other to know whats going on around them. Makes alot of people look really stupid, makes me laugh, even in jail, do you think they will get treated badly? they just embarrassed the worlds most advanced security company (americans) they will be treated like stars by fellow prisoners......lol

Hellz No. Leave them be. Look, they did the wrong thing so they may be made an example of (although that is politically dangerous) BUT, sydney and surroundings needed something to lighten the mood because it has been so freaking boring this apec thing so I for one have never been so amused by these dudes or the news.

No because security let them through they said they couldn't believe they got so far their cars had INSECURITY written on them and their badges said it was a joke
The security should be just grateful it wasn't Osama in the car then we would of had egg on our faces.

The only crime is that they got through the security.
They made fools of all the police who were not doing their jobs.
If you are going to send anyone to jail, why not George bush for the 100s of thousands of Iraqi's who have died for his oil.
They hung Saddam for less.

They shouldn't have to go to gaol because they actually did a VERY valuable thing ....
They showed the flaw in the system BEFORE it was used or discovered by somebody out to cause harm.

They should be thanked for exposing what could have been total humiliation if they had in fact been real suicide bombers. They tested the system and it failed and that's the thing that should be going on trial here.

NO!! We needed to get a perspective on all this and thanks to the Chasers we have seen the utter ridiculousness of it all!!
Howard and Bush should go to gaol for crimes against humanity and freedom.

No, but they certainly should pay for any additional costs incurred when the security men have to go out for stress-related disorders! What they did, of course, was test the effectiveness of the security, and might have gotten killed. It was a very, very dangerous stunt.
