Sadly, this could never happen in our lifetime. People would go to the polls in great numbers to prevent it because of 1400 years of strife with Christians. It would matter none that the Muslim was educated, moral, good to pets and children, whatever. The best that could be hoped for is that we will one day find a way to co-exist in peace. Shalom.

Well, we've had a Catholic as a president (Kennedy) and he didn't molest kids on tours of the White House. You think that the educated Muslim will want the Armed Forces to practice suicide bombings? Religion should be left out of politics and government.

It won't happen in our lifetime. It took until 1960 for America to elect a CATHOLIC president, for goodness sake. 9/11 is too fresh in our minds for a Muslim to be elected.
BTW, his primary opponents would do him in before he ever got to the national election.
