It is Deng Xiaoping, he turned China into a world power. China had no economic clout whatsoever and they were a worldwide joke. After Deng was done, China was an economic world power and one of the most important nations in the world. The amount of change he brought to China cannot be equaled by anyone. China would not be even close to where it is today without Deng.

Nelson Mandela he created truth and reconciliation committees so his country would go forward and not dwell on the past.

I would also like to add Winston Churchill the man that stood up to Hitler when no others did.

Going back further, I'd probably say Winston Churchill. But in keeping within 50 years, it has to be RONALD REAGAN. The man was a genius. He brought about the end of the cold war, and brought us out of four years of Carter Economics that saw 22% interest rates, oil embargoes, and slackened stock market.

Plus, Ronaldo Magnus made it popular to BE AN AMERICAN again!!!

(go ahead, lefties, give me a thumbs down.)

JFK....He inspired Americans into becoming the best they could be!By challenging them to reach for the stars by first landing on the moon!Republicans want people to believe it was Reagan that caused the collapse of the USSR.........but realistically JFK started the downfall of Communism by standing up to the USSR in the fall of '62.......An incident known as the Cuban missile crisis!
