Usually, whenever you question the course load, it's time to drop a class. A high GPA on 4 classes is better than an average GPA on 5.

Some scholarships require a minimum number of credits. Check before you drop.
Also, spend 20 minutes thumbing through the books, to decide if you might actually like reading them. Six novels can be a lot faster to read than one textbook. (Think about all the people, including kids, who read Harry Potter books in one or two days when they come out.)
Finally, there may be a Pass/Fail or Credit / no Credit option. Check this out with both the prof and the advising office (or scholarship office) to make sure that the prof will sign off on the change, and make sure that the credit hours will still count. If it's P/F, you can read the books for your enjoyment, go to about half the classes (unless the grade is based on attendence, or pop quiz issues) and do OK on the final, because you have read the books.

I once was taking 18 units and I barely passed some of my classes, and I didn't even have a job at that time. That greatly affected my GPA. I would drop the class if you say that the teacher sucks and I would rather concentrate in the other 2 hard ones.

It's best for you to drop the class, particularly if your work does not allow you time to read or complete some of your assignments in slack periods.
Meet with your guidance counselor and financial aid officer before you make the cut so you are sure your scholarship is not jeopardized.
