And it refuses to burn dvds. It keeps saying at the end of burning a dvd that it was scratched or inferior. When it was a brand new blank dvd? Its peeing me off. So I figure I'll go buy 50 of the expensive dvds. And watch it do it again

Oh and it burns cds beautifully.

Before you create another 50 coasters.......go to the pioneer website, see if there is a patch available that might clear the problem up.
Also check the website of the software that you use to burn with for the same thing.
Check both sites for compatibility....
Consider that even new, some things are broken, you might need to replace the DVD burner...:)
