Dell can be selected jus for the kind of service they provide..!!
It rocks.. next day service in the sense, the tech would be there at your door when you open it to pick your milk and news paper.. :)
Go for Dell..

The one you build yourself. hard to say and it depends on what you will be using the computer for ? Dell has came a long way in the industry I hated them 20 years ago and now they have awsome tech support like canon. They make it easy to buy and have you up and surfing in no time. Acer has came a long way ect. I would stay away from e machine, hp, gateway.

Rae, I have a Gateway DX420B and I have been very happy with it. It does have a couple of bugs but nothing that I can't live with. They have AWESOME support and if they can't help you fix it through their phone support, they will actually send a tech to your home to work on it.

hp pavillion books. they juz rock. affordable price but don underestimate juz bcoz it is cheap. if want sumting very very good, go for hp hdx series which costs more than 3000 usd. very good for the service.
