I know of a case where a husband was secretly viewing his stepdaughter body while his wife and other family members slept! This happenend on three occasions each occasion seemed to escalate, the father felt he should be forgiven since he came to my friend and told her. Right now my friend and her husband are legally separated and have an impending divorce but many of her other girlfriends have told her to take him back, I have been firm with her and told her NO! you have other children and he the husband tells her that he won't do that again and never to his daughters, but as her friend I have told her she can't take that chance! Divorce him! Do you think am I wrong for advising her to Divorce him? Or are her other friends right?

The safety of her children come first. She can not take the chance that this behavior would not escalate into molestation or rape. As a parent, it is her obligation to protect them from ay further inappropriate actions this man may take.

Absolutely not, you are right on.

It would probably just be a matter of time before it escalated into something more dangerous.

Plus if her daughter knows about it and she decides to stay with her hubby, well the daughter is going to be all messed up..
Thoughts of mom not protecting her, or thinking she is dirty, etc, man we are talking emotionally scars for sure.

Nasty bastard anyhow. Daddy's are suppose to protect and love their daughters, not spy on their young bodies, that's just sick sick@!

If she does stay with him then you have a moral responsibility to that young lady, and so you should call the authorities on him.

Are you WRONG?

Unless I'm reading this question incorrectly, you're advising your friend to divorce the man who sexually abused one of her children via voyeurism.

DIVORCE! (Divorce, divorce, divorce!)

It doesn't matter if he never does it again. Your friend's daughter should never, ever have to spend time with this man again. She should never run into him at a family gathering as her mother's husband, never see him when she drops in to see her mother, and never have to hear his name unless she brings it up on her own.

He could do it again, though. No parent in his or her right mind would let a child spend a minute with a man who violated the entire family this way. As far as I'm concerned, if this woman remains married to this man her children should be placed in protective custody. Continue to advise her to divorce, but do some research to see what approach would be most effective. I strongly suggest you contact your local battered women's shelter and get advice on HOW to advise her to leave him.

You know the situation. Please consider notifying Child Protective Services if she allows this man to be in her home again.

These sort of men don't change and he will re offend again. I know of a family where the father ended up molesting all of his 5 daughters and having sex with them at a very young age and to witness today the amount of damage this guy has done to these girls is very sad indeed. I agree with you and she should continue with the divorce.

If she takes him back, it only proves that her neediness comes before her duty to protect her own children. If she does, you should open your home to her daughter because she is NOT SAFE having that pervert violate her that way. In fact, you should get your hands on those tapes and take them to the police, and then maybe he'll get locked up and this won't be an issue.
