Yes! A-Rod has something to prove to himself. He wants to win as a Yankee. If he leaves he will be a failure in the eyes of baseball fans in New York. To silence his critics he MUST remain a Yankee and win a world series. Steinbrenner will reach down deep into his pockets to make sure that happens.

Yes.

The Yankess have a huge advantage in paying him in that his current contract Texas is ponying up around $30 million over the next 4 seasons. If Arod opts out, Texas is off the hook and his new team has to pay the full contract.

So if California offers hims $200 million over 7 years, it would only cost the Yankees $170 million to match that.

SO the Yanks can pay him more than anyone else. Plus, I think Arod will think about it and decide it would be nice to have a Plaque next to Joe Dimaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Reggie Jackson, etc out in Center Field of Yankee Stadium.

Although, hopefully, when he surpasses Barry Bond's career home run record it won't be described ad "another A-bomb for A-Rod."

A Rod already made the money, I bet you he goes back to the manager he has a close family like relationship with, Lou Piniella.

New York is a fickle place, he ain't in his position Short Stop, he already has all the money in the world, and he will REALLY hit homers off of WEAK National League pitching in Wrigley, the Home Run Ball Park.

--Also if I were the New Owner/s of the Cubs, I'd do a big PR move by signing A Rod.

Yeah it form of feels strange, yet once you think of roughly it, Matsui, Abreu, Cano and Cabrera have all been sizzling in that ingredient, to not point out Damon's heating up and the the remainder of the adult adult males are not too shabby. With maximum communities, there's some adult adult males that attempt to verify do not beat you. With the way the Yankees are hitting now, there basically isn't a vulnerable spot from a million-9. i think of their group known is a few thing like .290. it extremely is ridiculous and that i'm loving it.

Probably. I can't see any team willing to stump up the $30M a season Scott Boras seems to think A-Rod is worth. It's really hard to set a value on A-Rod since only one other player (Manny Ramirez) currently makes over $20M per season. Although Mark Teixeira could get into that neighbourhood and Ichiro will be making about $20M per season starting next season.

yes.

why? we can pay him any amount he desires. I know, people have been saying that the Yankees will pass, but trust me, A-Rod is going nowhere.
I don't think he can resist the following:

Money, playing in New York, playing for the Yankees, breaking and setting records as a Yankee, peace of mind that the Yankees will do anything to bring players they need to stay competitive, to name a few.

As a Yankees fan, I want him to stay. Don't listen to the bandwagon fans who boo him when he is not hitting and cheer him when he does something like he did the day before yesterday.

dude, be watching the Dodgers, Angels, Red Sox and a few other teams make a push after him. They will probably be able to trade some prospects for him or get rid of the money to sign him. A lot of teams have been intrested and he hasn't made a final decision yet.

They want to, Cashman is claiming he doesnt have the dough and said he cant afford to go after him if he opts out.

If he leaves I will be angry and go from a A-Rod worshiper to a A-Rod hater.

I agree with Ozgards. response. We can all talk about it as much as we want, well he should stay or he should go to Pinella in Chicago etc...Let the season play out first and talk about it when the season is over. IOnly Arod knows what he wants to do right now. He may change his mind by the time the season is over anyway...

I believe that they will. Who has that kind of money to pry him away?
He can stay put and set a lot of Yankee records, and get a lot of money on top of it.
The only reason that they wouldn't is they need pitching.
I'd love to see him in a White Sox uniform, but that's not gonna happen.
