Please follow this link and tell me if you think I have any chance of getting it published and, if possible, where would be a good place to try: http://morethanflames.blogspot.com/2007/09/rain-of-dirt.html

Following links is very frustrating...not quite sure why you didn't just post it in here...however, that being said, it was a pretty good poem. The voice is wonderful, the tone dark, yet compelling. If you want to look for publishers, I'd recommend you buy the lastest copy of "poet's market". It might be available at your local library, but if not, your local bookstore should have a copy, and if they're sold out, they can get you one within a week. Why bother buying a book like that? Well, because it lists thousands of publishers, says what kind of poems they're looking for, how to send them, where to send them, what format they should be in and whether or not they pay for poems and if so, how much. Sounds like a good investment to me.

...meanwhile, keep writing...you have skills

I think it's good work, the problem with poetry is that you have to pretty well compile it or win a magazine contest to sell it, and you might need to edit more in order to do that. It's a very competitive business, and a great poem may still not be good enough, it has to be the BEST of the best. Don't take that as a criticism of your work, it's wonderful, but be aware that some beautiful poems will never make publication, a fact that is based on sheer numbers.

It sounds more like song lyrics to me than poetry, and I think if you want to get it published, you should work on it some more. The idea of taking a well-known text then changing it can be a good start, but yours still feels a bit arbitrary, and you know that with good poetry, it often feels like the word the writer uses is the only one that would work, the one that is better for his poem than any other word there is. I think that's what you want to strive for. So far, it justfeels dark and a bit contrived, but if this your thing, do invest some more time and work on it, maybe find a writing group to discuss it with.

once you're basically getting 25k words out of her, then maximum possibly her tale isn't nicely worth being instructed, or you at the instant are not extremely waiting to be a revealed author. She ought to grant you 2 words, and you are able to make 2 pages out of them. i do no longer understand once you're conscious, yet it fairly is a very, very short e book. it fairly is approximately a hundred pages to be impressive, and that isn't lots to make a rapid greenback on from a writer, It additionally relies upon on once you're a stable author. So basically seem around the internet for some publishers of non fiction books and such, you're absolute to locate one.

I don't know if you'll find anyone to pay you for it, but a student publication might use it.
