im building my own computer and i want to use the optical drive in my pc that im using now but i don't have drivers how do i get them? I have an HP 8020n media center pc but I'm not sure what brand of optical drive it is I think HP too not sure

Windows will usually provide the driver. BUT you may need softwares such as Power DVD for movie viewing if ODD is DVD capable and Nero or Roxio for burning.

You don't need drivers for an optical drive. The Windows drivers will suffice.

Windows will have drivers for the optical drive. You do not need to worry about installing drivers for it.

you DO NEED drivers - must be manufacturer's name somewhere or serial number or something - google serial number or whatever it is if you do not have manufacturer - go to manufacturer's web site and download drivers
