Reagan was a super nice guy, little John Wayne type.
Reagan was responsible for the interruption of the more moderate consumerism, the US switched too in the mid seventies. Under Reagan, the national debts soared out of control. Reagan had no clue about his office, but was a very nice guy. He surrounded himself with a good team, but still didn't have a clue. The USA almost collapsed under his financial mistakes and took nearly the rest of the world down with it. The one think, the fall of the USSR, is falsely accounted for in his favor, but had absolutely nothing to do with him. not a thing. It was Gorbachev, holding back the dogs of hell (KGB), when the Hungarians took down the first barriers.

Considering that Reagan gave the working man tax cuts and brought down the Soviet Union. and that under Carter both inflation and unemployment was in double digits. Reagan in my view rates as one of our best presidents.
