That's not even true..people with the diseases try as hard as they can to.....and you know it's not too easy to do when your body is reacting to the medications of the month your doctor wants to try....like your a friggin guinea pig

But most people feel that overweight = over-eating, thus the snap judgment

yea, I really gained when I quit smoking and my thryoid went south. I have never felt so bad in my life. It took two years to get my medication adjusted to where I feel like doing things. I was really out of whack. Now after a year have lost 50+lbs and will lose another 50+ to come back in at around 195. I hope I can get there, I want to be there, but I am 60 with diabetes now and it, the last 25 or so, will be tough. For the first time in my life I am having to make it a point to exercise AND watch what I eat.

Yea thats true, there are many disorders that can cause weight gain without eating. But for most of America its just overeating and not enough exercise...kinda sad though that everyone believes that it is always and overweights persons fault when it isn't always.

Yes, this is true. I had my thyroid removed 4 months ago and I have gained a little weight. My doctor is trying to get my meds adjusted right so I can start loosing again. I hope she does it soon.

granted, there are some metabolic disorders that will make it more difficult, but those are NOT as common as overeating and inactivity.

I have seen far too many people try and blame genetics, or thyroid, but have never seen those ones at the gym
