Birth control is having an effect on her hormones. I did the same thing once but i passed large blood clots during my second period. Tell her to stop taking them for about 3-5 day (make sure to emphasize that she can't have sex!!!!!!) Her period will stop because she's giving her body a chance to make an adjustment without the pills. Then tell her to get to the gyno in a week or so and get a different type of pill. If she has an issue with getting off the pill completely, she can always buy estrogen from the nearest pharmacy until she sees a doctor. This can even those hormones out for a few days too. Again, make sure she knows that she can't have any sexual relations while she isn't on birth control! Good luck.

It depends how long she has been on the pill. If she has been on for quite a while, then she may need to go to doc, the pill may not be strong enough for her. If she is new on the pill, like 1-3 mos, it takes time for body to build up all the hormones and stuff, so body may be confused and that is okay. Sometimes it takes a while for body to balance out.

Ok I know I'm a guy but I work with teen girls and have seen this issue MANY times. Basically, her body is still adjusting to the medication and her periods will be weird for awhile. One girl had hers for almost two weeks straight until her body got acclimated to the pill. If it bothers you though have her see a doctor and change to a different pill

It could be that she just started and her periods and her pills need to regulate.

If she's been on it for a long time, I'd talk to a doctor.

birth control pills are hormones and it is effecting her hormone levels in her body. irregular periods can be one of the side effects. she should try switching pills and find the one that is right for her.
