taking something for granted means not giving someone importance or not appreciating them because you are confident that that person will be with you always...

taking advantage of someone means using that person for personal gain...like using a person to make another person jealous...or asking a person to help you always but when that person asks for your help you dont

well when you take someone/something for granted you (mostly) do it not on purpose. while taking advantage of them or it is done on purpose for ones own gain and when you take something for granted you miss it when it is gone while if you take advantage of something you might also miss it but for totaly different reasons

taking someone for granted is not appreciating them until they're gone. taking advantage is gaining personal happiness by making them less happy.

Taking them for granted means that you just assume that they will always be there regardless of what happens or how you treat them. Taking advantage of them means that you are using them to your benefit without regard for what benefits them.
