Fun one!

The French settlers came to North America, and freely intermarried with the Native Americans, even adopting their lifestyle, so much so that French/Native Americans in some parts of Canada were easily blending one group to the other without any fuss or violence. The two cultures became intertwined as the ethnic and cultural lines were blurred by the intermarriage and subsequent children.

On the OTHER hand, the English settlers came over here, imposed their lifestyle, feeling it was the only one with value, stole ancestral lands, murdered, kidnapped or otherwise abused the Native Americans, with the express goal of GETTING RID of them. The English did this in every culture which they colonized.

Because the British goverment was OUR government for a long time, their policies for "Dealing with" the Native Americans became our policy, and as late as the mid 20th century, we were still telling Native Americans where they had to live, what language they had to speak, etc.

English relationship with native americans wasn't as good as the franco relationship with them.

In i.e 7 years war, the native americans would gladly scalp english american settlers and kill surrendering british soldiers where as with the french they were more leniant.
