Genetics certainly plays a role in intelligence. However, environment and even luck also plays a part in your development.

It is important to realize different people have different skills and aptitudes. Just because you find algebra difficult doesn't make you an idiot. Some Geniuses struggle with math.

Perhaps you could try to find an after school tutor or a teacher to give you some extra help.

So, you are claiming your parents are not intelligent? Or that you missed the intelligence gene?

I think I've seen all the varieties. Intelligent parents, not intelligent children. Average parents with above average kids. One child more intelligent than it's siblings.

The scientist that study human intelligence are pretty much in agreement. It is very difficult to pin point just how intelligence comes about.

From what I've read on the subject, roughly 65% of "intelligence" is heritable--for most people, but individuals can stand outside of this on both low and high ends.

In other words, yes, no, maybe, possibly, but nobody can definitively pin it down.
