There isn't one. Mythology WAS religion, and who's to say religion isn't all just mythology?

There is a very fine line one that is often blurred. Mythology and the religions of our ancestors are often intertwined so much so that the line often seems to disappear. Almost as if Mythology spawn religion or religion spawned mythology which often both cases are true enough to stand alone. Its one of those kinds of topics you would have to take the time out to decipher for yourself but on a whole the line is fine, thin and often blurred.

I don't see a parallel line between the two. Mythology was used to tell stories but usually collectively defined as the myths of a particular culture. A myth occurs in a timeless past, contains supernatural elements and seeks to dramatize or explain such issues as the creation of the world (Creation Myth) and human beings. While the Religion we are referring is a code of beliefs and practices formulated in response to a spiritual awareness of existence. It may involve either faith in a state of existence after earthly death or a desire for union with an omnipotent spiritual being or a combination of the two.

Good question my friend.

the line is very blurred
religion is simply a point of veiw and mythology is a story that has been retold, changed and added to over the years.
hold on--that would be most religions too then!!!

Mythology is what happened to the religions beliefs, when its believers whittle down to a few.
