I see no problem with it whatsoever. Leave the choice to individuals.

The problem with making it legal, just like with many other things, is that there are too many bible-thumpers who want to force their kool-aid induced brainwashing on others.

Polygamy should be a matter of choice as it is practiced in Africa. It is not polygamy that make Africa a poor continent. We human being practice polygamy in other sphere of life. When you employ more than one worker to work for you. It is polygamy. When you have selection of cars for use or more than one taste of choice, i would call it polygamy. People define polygamy as having more than one woman as wife. I think it should be made legal. .Polygamy is expensive to run but it can be useful at times.

I find the w hole polygamy thing strange and difficult to understand, but...

If all parties are of age, happy, willing, and not getting hurt, who am I to say no?

Of course, it does open up a whole legal can of worms.

I say let's work on legalizing same sex marriage first, as that affects many more people.

I don't truly understand the religious reasons for polygamy, so my answer is based on what I know. I think it should be legal to have one spouse and for it to be socially acceptable to have additional partners if all parties agree.

Certainly not. However, I think people should be free to have as many relationships as they like. Only one legal marriage per person though because I don't want to have to use my SS dollars to support a man's 5 wives and 20 minor children when he turns 55.

I dont know USA law because I am an Australian but I think if it makes them happy then yes ? as long as they make sure the legal guide lines are from legal age marriages not 82 year old men marrying 16 to 18 year old girls.

But then they should legalize gay marriages as well .

Legal no, I belive that couples that are comfortable with this type of relatiohship can make it work. However society will always put their nose down to it. Which makes it difficult for people to open about it.

Sure, if they can figure out the legal division of property, and make it so that it's fair to those who choose to only have one spouse - just because I don't want to be polygamous doesn't mean I should be unfairly burdened (tax, etc) to support those who do.

Seems irrelevant, doesn't it, when so many people are living together, unmarried, and have the option to take on as many "partners" as they want, anyway, but seldom keep more than one or two at the same time?
There's not much to stop a guy, as it is, from shacking up with half a dozen women. nd making as many babies as he wants, so long as he doesn't marry but one of them! of course, that happens, and somebody gets shot!
