An Ed.M is a Master of Education.
A BA stands for a Bachelor of Arts
A BS stands for a Bachelor of Science
A MA is a Master of Arts
A MS is a Master of Science
An Ed.M and a M.Ed are the same - see above
A Ph.D. is a Doctor of Philosophy

The bachelor is a degree received after a 4-year education
The master is the first degree after the bachelor, which usually takes 1-2 years of additional full-time study
A doctorate is usually the highest degree in a field, and can take a minimum of an additional 3 years (and may take much longer).
