Sur La Table and William Sonoma are in many malls, and sell wonderful gourmet cooking utensils. They have Mario Batalli and Rachel Ray cookware as well as any little nick nack I have needed for the kitchen (such as one of those terra cotta rings for keeping your brown sugar from going hard).

If you mean cooking supplies as in food ie. mushrooms or speciality items, Whole Foods or HEB Central Market have the most variety.

There is a place in The Woodlands on I-45 North feeder. You would exit Robinson and it's by the grocery store over there (I live in Austin now and can't remember what the grocery store is called.) It's not necessarily a gourmet cooking store, but more a store for restaurant chefs, you might be able to find what you're looking for there. I know you wanted Memorial area, but that's the best I can do to help you :/

This part of the Katy Fwy is near the Studemont exit. It is open to the public. You do not have to be a restaurant owner to shop there.

My absolute fav place for these things is Williams-Sonoma out west on Memorial. If they don't happen to have it they'll get it for you.
