When he first began, his country was in turmoil. He promised to solve the peoples problems. After he got into power, he consolodated his power, and dissolved the congress that they had. There were advances made, such as providing jobs, etc., but the absolute power corrupted him and his cohorts. He couldnt sustain the prosperity without a war machine, and then he wanted more land so he invaded other countries, and began WW2. The rest is history.
