Well, that stuff isn't really hard rock. If you want hard rock, try these:
Opeth (anything by them is great), Symphony X (anything), Blind Guardian (Turn the Page, And Then There Was Silence: these two are particularly amazing), Dragonforce (anything). I love all of these groups and I hope you'll love them too!

Try a little known Christian (that's right) Acid Metal Band called Mortification.
