The Little Girl - John Micheal Montgomery

Love Me - Collin Raye

two other notes: not to be a jerk to the others, but...

tim mcgraw didn't write that song... so it just reminds me of -a man with no musical talent- every time i hear that song

a song that was based off of a movie doesn't count... mostly because it reminds you, whether it be subliminallly or not... the feeling is at least partly because of what you saw on the film and not mecessarily the movie

"My Immortal", by Evanescence. It's the only song that really touches me. It's about how she still loves a guy she can't be with. I think he died, although he may have just left her. The song doesn't say.

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

You can watch the music video here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YxQrPXPSVhQ

although I wasn't really impressed with the video, the song really gets to me.

"Send In The Clowns"--the version by Judy Collins
Despite the title, a truly poignant song about life, love, and loss. Deep stuff. Beautiful in its simplicity. (I first heard it on The Muppet Show about 30 years ago, and my Mom said I ran to my room so she and Dad wouldn't see me cry.)

"Patches"--by Clarence Carter. A ballad about a poor kid that becomes the man of the house way too soon, and his struggles. Heartbreaking from start to finish. I actually cried myself to sleep once listening to it.

To this day, "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes always gets me. . . .

I think of "Diary" by Bread. A man finds his wife's diary, reads it and sees all this stuff about finding the love she's waited for. At first, he thinks it's all about him but then realizes she secretly loves another. In the end, he lets her go to be with the other man AND wishes for her "all the sweet things she can find...all the sweet things THEY can find". Truly heartrending.

Tell Laura I Love Her ~ Ray Peterson
