Like using private Q&A, and not letting people add them as contacts unless they are invited, or blocking them if they weren't.

well considering some of them have been here since 2005, getting your account deleted is no joke. you have to start all over again. Ya know the trolls are on the look out. But then again, as you've said, it's just a damn account.

no, because I had another account with over 80,000 points that was deleted. I think some people get pissy over something you answered and they go through your pages of questions and answers and report every single one whether legitimate or not until you are deleted. That is also why they decide to be your "friend", so they can track everything you post.

Sometimes it is a pity that contact cannot be made - if you find newer info for someone, after the question is closed for answers, for example, and there is just no way to get that info to the person asking. Happened to me this week

i will admit that my other account with the 45,000 points yes i am protective of it because it took me time to build it and I need the email address on there...i have too much information on there to risk losing it...
& what are the chances yahoo will give it back to me..?

Unfortunately, in these days of trolling, it's become necessary to take precautions. I've made my stuff private, and my problems have disappeared.

No I don't think so. It would really suck to get deleted and if someone is targeting you then its a good idea to have all of those sercurity measures.

yea some are a lil extreme but i cant blame them, it did suck wen my accounts got deleted as soon as i got unlimited questions twice...
