Because we use CAVE MAN logic to explain the unknown, like our primitive barbaric ancestors. Obsolete genes do not die overnight, so you'll be seeing the majority of the earth's population with a distorted world view....sorry.

Humanity tends to want a cause and effect answer to life and its dealings, I believe they think that if it was caused by a deed they did and that they are indeed being punished then they have some control over there lives out side of the tangible. I think, however, life would go smoother for many if they thought of each mishap as a lesson to be learned so that they may grow into the person they will end as.

I personally don't blame god when things go wrong in my life. There are many things that we have no control over (such as other human beings) so if I crash into another car, it was probably because the other person or I were not paying attention, if my husband leaves me it's b/c he decided to, etc. I think that the people that blame god for the things that have gone wrong in their lives are just looking for someone to blame and I guess that because god is not in human form or tangible it makes him an easy target.

In a completely clinical way, (from my psych classes) the easy explanation is that people don't like to blame themselves. People take credit for the good, but not for the bad. That's never our fault. In Spanish, for example, you can't say "I lost the ____" or "I forgot the _____". It's "the ____ forgot itself", or "the ______ lost itself". In other words, it isn't my fault. When you get a bad grade on a test, what do you tell your parents? Not, "I blew it off to go hang out with my friends or play video games". No, you say "That test was really hard, and the teacher didn't tell us to study _____". Or, "I didn't do my homework because my partner ditched me", or "The presentation sucked because the rest of my group are slackers".

These are rather mundane examples. I'm in school right now, so they apply to me. But what if there is no one to blame but God? What if, for the big things, you can't blame your friends, or your teachers, or your parents? Suppose little Billy is dying of cancer because his mom can't afford the treatments, no matter what she does? Who is there to blame? Not the mother. She already has two jobs and has gone door to door asking for money. Not little Billy, who has no choice in the matter anyway. Yourself? Maybe, for not giving them part of the savings you had stashed away? You can't blame yourself. It isn't your fault. You didn't make Billy sick. Who did? The answer, of course, is God. God made Billy sick, and He isn't helping. Therefore, it is His fault. Not yours, not mine, but His. Maybe not rightly His fault, but the blame is placed there easiest.

People also tend to believe God has an ironic sense of humor, also known as Murphy's Law. "If anything can go wrong, it will". It's right after you wash the car that the birds attack it. It's right after you finally fix the air conditioning, only for the weather to change. And it's right as the guy (or girl) you like walks up to you that you spill our coffee all down your front. People move on from those things. How? Treat it like God is playing a prank on them. They shake their heads and say, "good one, God. Now look at the mess I'm in".

Those are the two main reasons I know of that people blame God. It's easy, convenient, and it saves you the guilt trip.

Yes- He didn't tell us to come to this material illusion in the first place. But we like little children persisted we wanted to check it out and wanted to be like Him so He said knock yourself out. It is all based on karma (reactions to our past actions) mostly stemming from our previous lives. That is why a baby is born blind or sick or healthy or in a poor or wealthy family. All due to past activities. And He is not sitting up there doling out our Karma it is automatic, and He has superintendents doing all the calculating. (demi-gods) they are His servants. But if one surrenders He takes away our karmic reactions. gotta curse someone and why not God??

Of course though, you could see it from a different point of view that he's really teaching you through trials. If you dont know the bad, how are you supposed to know the good?

Good question. God put us on this earth to nurture and take care of one another. We have failed miserably. This is not Gods fault. We did it all to ourselves.
