Mix and match your new pieces... I don't mean with eachother but with the rest of your old closet.

Have a cute blazer? wear it with your cute new skirt one week, then with a classic pair of jeans the next. Bought an expensive pair of jeans? wear it with a simple white tank you probably already have then with a polo or babydoll next.

Hopefully you bought a lot of pieces with versatility in mind, if not It's pretty easy and all of us here can help. Looking back, I think I overthought a lot of things I wore in High School... and even one of the more fashionable girls would wear the same piece more than once in a week and I never thought anything of it like I did myself.

One thing I regret that I should have done: balancing my look. I'd spend so much time in the morning picking out a super cute outfit that I wouldn't have time to do my hair or makeup well... or I'd do the oppisite and end up looking great from head to neck but then be wearing a sweater and jeans. So try keeping it simple and balanced and mix classics with your new hot stuff!

1] get at least three pairs jeans in different cuts and washes, and three pairs pants, different neutrals. [ either navy, gray, black; or caramel, olive, coffee brown, whichever colors look better on you ]. Can be worn three-four times, unless soiled. Add capris, bermudas, shorts if allowed in school
2] buy some jackets/sweats/sweaters in the neutrals, at least.
Theses can be worn three - four times, unless soiled
3] invest most in tops - what people see first - in your best brights and pastels. Should have enough fitted Ts, blouses, tanks, button shirts, etc, for 10 different days. Try to do hair different styles with same tops, for variety. These can be worn only once, because of sweat factor.
4] also need 10 winter long sleeve Ts, blouses, button shirts, or sweaters. Again wear once, unless it is a top layer.
5] buy enough shoes to match your pants, jeans; then add fun colors [ brights/pastels] for more casual shoes.
6] alternating outer layers, belts, jewelry, and shoes make your wardrobe seem a lot bigger.

Get clothes that aren't super flash, that way people don't notice them as much. I am really into fashion, but hardly ever pay any attention to other people's stuff, I am too worried about me and they probably are too. I had the same problem, my parents didn't think that was something I should worry about, so I just made my own style, and now that I am older everybody loves it. Just wear what YOU think is cool!

well this is how it goes at my school:
- don't wear the same pants two days in a row.
- don't wear baggy jeans or skin tight jeans.
- don't over-do eyeliner and mascara
- don't try to dress like everyone else and expect to be cool.
- don't brag.
- don't wear two different socks

- do wear nice clothes
- do wear shoes that match. (ex black top = black shoes)
- do try to look your best and act your best
- do keep your nails and hair and face clean
- do make lots of friends and have fun in school.

yup so that's it no "only shop at hollister" or "swear by the abercrombie logo". have fun with your new look!! ♥

My rule for rewearing things is this: Jeans and shorts 2-3 times a week after they have been washed each time. Jean skirt- once a week tees- once a week polos- once or twice a week jackets- 2 or 3 times a week shoes- doesn't matter. good luck!
