The best thing you can do is read the text. If you still can't figure it out, then that is what the teacher is there for. The teacher, believe it or not, is your guide, not your judge and jury. If you show you want to learn this stuff, then there is no reason that a good teacher won't respond by trying to help you to see this stuff. It's important that you learn to communicate, especially when you need help, so that later you will learn how to interact with teachers (and other people) and get what you need. It might make you feel inside that this gives you the appearance of weakness, but actually not asking the question and not getting what you need is the true weakness here.

Ask your teacher. They want to know that you want to learn.
