My friend says he found a star on the Walk of Fame that had a red fender pick in it. Can anyone whose gone enough times back this up? I would like to know whose star it was, if it is true.

I don't think so. At Grauman's Chinese, where celebs put their handprints in wet cement, there is a chance for a star to embed something in the wet cement. But when a celeb gets a "star" on the Walk of Fame, the cement is already dry around the plaque when they first get to see it. Perhaps your friend is thinking of the Rock Walk (on Sunset) which is somewhat like Grauman's (with handprints) but its devoted to rock & roll and guitars - so a guitar pick would make more sense there.

If you don't know the difference between Grauman's, the Walk of Fame, and the Rock Walk, see:
