It's probably more important WHAT you studied, and what work you did, more that where you did it. Study and work abroad might give an advantage for admission into an International Studies program, but probably wouldn't make a lot of difference for an MBA.

Graduate schools (particularly business schools) are looking for people with broad experiences, both educationally and experiencially, so this type of "extra" is highly favourable in the top school. Assuming you have good greades and high test scores, this type of sweetener moves you toward the top of the acceptance lists...good luck!
