just wanting to know if i can replace my core 2 duo with a quad core. the socket is lga 775. they are both the same socket just different fsb.

You should give a little more information like what motherboard. The motherboard should be able to do that, if you are having issues check the bios on what the setting are for the fsb.

Front Side Bus speed is determined by the processor, not the motherboard. The motherboard only has to be able to support the FSB speed that the processor uses, and I know of know socket 775 boards that support 1333 that won't support 1066, so you should be fine.

Yeah sure, BUT processor will be at overclocked setting if you want it to run at 1333mhz fsb. You may even exceed 1333mhz fsb. Usually easy on most enthusiast motherboards and a good pair of overclocking RAM.

Read Manual of your Board for what processor types it support to be sure.
