Colleges look favorably upon challenging coursework, but not accompanied by such a low GPA. and the UCs are very tough to get into, so I would look for some easier colleges. I hope you realize that you need to really get your grades up once you go into college. Pre-med is not the easiest (although biology is probably the easier science major), and medicine is a long and difficult route. So make sure to do well in college! A 2.7 won't fly anymore... you need to try and at least get a 3.5 if you want to get into a medical school... they are becoming more and more competitive.

Try Golden Gate University (San Francisco), you will definitely get in. They are on rolling admissions as well.

The problem is that most schools will look down upon someone who took AP courses and has a 2.7 GPA. They will look much more fondly at a student who took regular courses and got a 3.5. That student didn't take on more than they could handle. Depending on SAT scores I think you will get into an average school but not a nationally ranked school or anything. They are too competitive.

Contact the schools of you choice UC Davis or LA are good medical others might be. If you don't qualify go to a State college. I had quite a few med majors who were making up for poor high school grades, when I was a biology major at Humboldt State (now Calif state university at Humboldt)
