BLIMEY!!! No worries, you aren’t the only one (Ok, maybe we can worry about how the Half-Blood Prince is going to be butchered…) I had mixed feelings with the movie, I mean the other 4 movies have had scenes cut and changed but they were nothing compared to this one. I’m not sure I enjoyed the entire movie as a whole but instead I do enjoy the parts and snippets of the movie. (I spoke to some who don’t read the books at all, they felt the movie plotline is a little choppy)

It’s the longest book yet it’s the shortest movie of all the 5- I can’t see why it has to be that short… a little more scenes would do more justice to the book. I don’t expect the movie to stick to the book like glue with every scene in it but I believe that choosing which scenes and how true those were in the book is important. Changes are welcomed, I certainly enjoy the way Hermione stupefies Ron or commenting that Cho’s looking at Harry or Ron asking what happens to the Hermione Granger he knows or how Ginny always looked jealous when Harry approaches Cho or how Luna was introduced… Those were the changes that will triumph the book…

The biggest and probably the most disappointing one was Battle in the Dept of Mysteries, oh man, the book was so much better. Don’t make the teenagers so helpless when the order came… I think they should give more credits to way Harry and gang fought in the DOM, how they were injured in the book (they all seemed very fine) before being rescued by the Order… It all adds to the reality that Voldermort is back, the war is looming and losses be it death and injuries are part of the war… Set the pace for the next two books…

Oh, Bellatrix and Umbridge were wonderfully played out. Bellatrix really looked demented in DOM, I can just imagine how gleefully deranged she’ll look torturing Hermione in the final book…*chill, shiver*… Scary Bellatrix… Poor Hermione… I wonder if they’ll keep that scene. I’ll be sooo scared for Hermione…

Oh well, that’s just my opinion, I REALLY hope that the next movie is much better AND they better not screwed up the 7th book as it’ll be such a shame if the final movie is a let down (plus it’s my favourite one)… Not the way to close a great series!!! *I wonder if the directors read the whole series, they could do with some of the fans’ opinions… Not all opinions should but constructive ones.

In mean time, let pray hard the next movie will be better off…( Fingers and toes crossed)…

There had to be a lot of changes - the book was way too long for all the material to get into a movie. But I do think they should have made the movie longer, given more attention to Harry's relationship with Cho, and at least put in some Quidditch. Also, the final battle at the Ministry was completely changed around in the movie for reasons I don't really follow. I liked the original better, and the movie version wasn't really so condensed, just changed. Also, Rita Skeeter is a fun character, and her small role in Phoenix is significant, so that's something else I wish hadn't just vanished.

i have just recently (3 months ago) gotten in to harry potter and have never had to wait for the any of the books or the movies. I find it so fun! What im looking foward to in the movie is the scene when Dumbledore escapes from the minister and umbridge - that is going to be awesome! and the fight scene between him and voldemort. and the hall of prophices scene. In the book: there are far too many things. who lives, what are the horcruxes, the 2 way mirror, what is harry's scar - really, the letters from dumbledore to petunia, if ginny and harry will get together, i think ron is going to die sacrificing himself for harry so i dont think him and hermonie will be together but u never know, if hagrid will die, what is behind that vail, what all did dumbledore do to protect harry, what snape and dumbledore were talking about, if the ministery will help or make the situation worse, will the trio go back to school, what about newts... i could go on all day!!!!!

The movie was way different but I enjoyed it while I was watching it. It wasn't until I left the theater that I really started to pick it apart. I've just learned to live with the fact that, if I'm going to watch a movie adaptation of a book I like, I need to tune out my inner bibliophile and appreciate the movie as if it stood alone. I do really wish that in OOTP the decision makers would have chosen to keep a bit more of the plot and dispose of some of the gratuitous special effects.

If you need to download Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince you can get it here for free: http://bit.ly/1m5Y8E6

it's completely free and it's very fast to install
This game sequel is somewhat closer to the story on book rather than on the movie. However, there are still some features which are specifically designed for this game.

all the movies are different to the books sometimes a book does not transfer well to the screen so they only add the things that look good on the screen the best thing to do is just to watch it as a movie and not an adaptation

In which parts? Personally I think everything that was left out of the film was for the best (except I agree that Harry's anger should have been portrayed at the end), but apart from that, leaving the Quiditch out = good thing (does nothing for the overall story) leaving the chapters of insecurity and nightmares etc that Harry has = good thing, this didn't need to go in.

What else do you mean?

It was a great effort considering the size of the book, and if you didn't like it, then don't see it again.

I agree with you, the movies have been a huge disappointment compared to the books. However, Prisoner of Azkaban was very good, not just because my Gary was in it, but because it has stayed the truest to the books so far.

I just hope that after all the films are made, they will make a dvd boxset of extended films, so we can see the really important bits as we should have seen them originally.

I was so disappointed in the movie!!!

I was so mad and upset after the first 15 minutes that I almost walked out, but then I realized I had just paid $10 to watch it so I stuck around. I hope the future movies stay truer to the book.
