Well frankly allot, Mac is more of a unix based type of system totally different from windows and somewhat different from Linux, aside from that, Macs are mac in as if you buy a mac and your motherboard goes out or it or some electronic equipment goes out on it your in deep sh*t, some have made up the saying that macs are really easy to replace because once something goes out on it internally then its cooked, its either cooked or you can have it fixed for the price of a brand new mac, Mac is also currently going threw the BSOD era of its OS's, except in there case its not BLUE, its "BLACK screen of death" that has alittle power button on the front when it crashes, typical. but aside from it crashing and or freezing up its an "ok" OS, you can do about 10% of what windows can do plus, once and a blue moon you may get a virus while in windows you can and will get more than a virus.

In a way you can compare it to the Windows 98 OS but being fair enough windows has had the exact same problem in there past, except theres a huge plus with windows/Linux, a.k.a PC's when something goes out on a PC you can replace it fairly cheaply without having to buy a brand new PC. (ive used windows xp for over 3 1/2 years and not once has it ever crashed or froze up on me)

Linux - now this is the fun one for PC's. My personal favorite, with Linux you can run it on almost ANY PC out there, whether you have 64mb or ram to 32mb or ram to one of the slowest processors out there, theres always a Linux OS out there for that PC you wanna run it on, Not only that but its pretty much virus free for most Linux OS. When it comes to personal experiences ive ran mepis, fedora, red hat, Ubuntu and mandrake, there all great OS, beats the hell out of mac and windows any day, AND YOU CAN PUT IT ON ALMOST ANY PC!!!

But thats your differences between mac and PCs

good luck.

Buy the system that fit's your needs... both have advantages and disadvantages... i prefer mac... but i'm an artist, so figure it out for yourself.... also macs look better, imac is the best computer concept ever... but, pc are more common, if you need to transfer file between work and home you are probably better with pc. asking a question like this gets you some very biased answers but, i have both so here is what i think:

Mac- Easy to use, almost virus free, stable, best for video editing and graphics work, doesn't do games as well.

PC- Easy to use in some repects, but troubleshooting is a pain pain in the **** unless you know what you are doing. Has many compatibility issues with hardware(caused by the fact that Microsoft doesn't make the hardware), good for word processing/spreadsheets... (it's the standard), gaming is mainly on PC

My choice would be Mac cuz, you can also install windows on it... so you can have 2 in 1

The MAC is made by Apple, runs on its own Operating System, and is limited to using only software and hardware designed for it. Because only about 5% of the market is MACs, the programs available for it are limited. Almost no games are available for the MAC. Newer ones are able to run Windows, and therefore most programs designed to run in Windows. But you lose all the benefits of running a MAC, and might as well be running a Windows PC.

When running in MAC mode, they are more stable and often easier to use then a PC. Because Apple can control both the software and the hardware, they can make it run better. They can design it to work specifically on their hardware. While Windows has to work with hundreds of different systems,

If you are looking for a "work" computer, the MAC is a good choice. If you want to play games, go with the PC.

There are way too many differences between the two. Your best bet is to google for the information.

Just a quick summary of the differences:
1. Operating System (which will affect softwares running on it)
2. Navigation System (there's no right click for Mac)
3. Price (Mac is costlier for PC of the same spec)
4. Design (Mac is always way better than PC in terms of aesthetics)

The differences between a Mac and a PC are Mac are mostly suitable for home and school use. Mac are also only suitable for graphics designs, etc. For PC, it is only suitable for business and school use, but nowadays, it may be a little more suitable for home use too. You can use PC for much gaming and fun, unlike Mac.

Mainly the operating system. they also have slightly different hardware. In my opinion, PC's are better because you can do a lot more with them. Mac's are mainly good for video editing.
