It's hot, and she forgets to open her passenger-side window almost every time we get in the car, even though I've opened mine. I don't understand why someone who complains about the heat would not consider opening her car window to alleviate some of the heat when she gets in the car.

She says she doesn't mind having the window open, and that she just forgets to open it. I need help in getting her to remember to open the window.

I used to have the same problem. Now, I just let her get in first and wait for her to open the window before I get in. It does not take long she realizes that it is hot inside and that opening the window solves the problem. Once she opens the window I get in. Now right before I get in all I have to do is look at her and she knows that I won't get in unless she opens the windows. It works even faster when she is the one that is in a hurry.

if you have a 4 door just open the back windows and leave hers closed. If not then just leave it be. I am 31yrs old and from the time i was a little girl i hated the sound of the wind in my ears and it often gave me ear infections. Why haven't you asked her about this yet? Ask her why she doesn't like to open her window and i agree with the one poster if shes 13 she probably doesn't want to ruin her hair.

just tell her to and next time get a car where you can control the windows too. personally i think maybe she is waiting for you to put the air on. if it is hot where you live like it is here not many people drive with the windows down. 102 degrees is not my personal favorite.

Just keep telling her. My kids are programmed not to open their windows because they are in the back and it irritates me. When they are finally big enough to sit in the front, they probably will need lessons on how the darn thing works. LOL

She's a teenager she probably doesn't want her hair messed up or is embarrassed not to have a/c or some other silly thing that teens think. If it that big of a problem open your mouth and tell her to do it. You are the parent, aren't you?

Umm- maybe you could remind her to do it, right before you shut off the car? 13 year olds are not great in forseeing the future or the consequences of their lack of actions, even obvious ones like the car will be even hotter if she leaves the window closed.

She may not like the wind. I would just tell her to roll down the window so she doesn't need to remember.

I don't get why this is such a big deal - just tell her to. It's not hard to speak the words.
