Since i own the Pontiac version of your celebrity. I can say that you can expect to be able to drive that Celebrity for at least 200,000 miles with normal maintenance. My Pontiac currently has 172,000 on it, and is working fine. A few years ago i used a Pontiac 6000 sedan as a Taxi for a year. Then fixed the things that were worn out and gave it to my step son he drone it for another year. The last mileage i saw on that car was 235,000 miles. All with just normal maintenance. These were 1989, and 1990 cars. This Celebrity you are looking at may be a very good deal.

The 3.1 engine is prone to failure.
The Celebrity is no great value at any price.
Go to your local library and look at the "Consumers Reports Buyers Guide" for a year that covers this model. That report is unbiased and should be taken into account when selecting a used car when reliability is a question.

A thousand bucks fo a seventeen year old car is a deal for both of you if it's in good condition. The Celebrity was a fairly reliable car but don't expect it to go to Brazil and back at that age.

I can tell you this, I had a 1988 Celebrity with a 2.8 and i put that car through heck and back. the front wheel drive would take me anywhere i wanted to go and i never had a problem when i owned it. it was beat up with 119,000 when i bought it and gave 200 bucks for it. it was still beat up when i sold it for 200 bucks and 172,000 miles. and as far as i know the person i sold it to is still driving it around to this day. it is not a good looking vehicle, but it is good on gas and a good driving car.

yes for the condition of the car ,they way you described it ,900 is a good price to offer them for it,it sounds like a real good car,and if its been taken care of it should last a lot longer,a friend of mine has had one for ten years, and its got well over 200k on it,and still runs really good, there good cars,if you can get it for 900 that would be a good deal on it,i think if they want to sell it they will take 900 for it,that's a good fair price for it,good luck on getting it, you can try for a lower price on it ,and they may take it,hope it works out.

should be a good deal, but I would watch the intake manifold gasket, that is the waek spot in those engines. You should slitt be able to get 50K more out of it

it would been accomplished previously. rather undemanding in case you may spend $25,000 on an engine substitute. you may could desire to build an entire custom tube chassis and convert it to RWD. basically the axle will fee approximately $2,000.....
