The Camaro has the old Corvette Engine which is also used in the current Pontiac GTO. The Camaro is heavier, boxier, has less power and torque, and is bigger than the Corvette.

The Corvette is a light, aerodynamic supercar meant to compete with the Dodge viper, Ferrari F430 and Porsche 911 Turbo. It was built to handle good in twisty roads while Muscle cars like the Camaro or Mustang are meant to go in a straightline. That is why Foreign cars can keep up with American cars on the track. Foreign cars are primarily built for handling.

The Camaro is a heavy, big muscle car. Muscle cars compete with cars like the Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger and Challenger, Honda S2000, Nissan 350z, Mazda RX8, and Audi S4, and BMW M3, and the new Audi TT.

I'm afraid it's going to be a one car race as there are no 2007 - 2008 Camaros. Thus far is considered a "concept car"- however, 2009 looks as if Chevrolet plans to release it. All the ads and magazine articles say the 400 hp. aluminum Corvette motor is all that will be offered. Still other publications offer that Chevrolet may have a complete "sneeker" up it's sleeve. Possibly the 08 - 430 Corvette 6.0 motor.

The LS-6 - 505 hp.Corvette can "book out" at nearly 200 mph.

2007 Camaro:
