Well you got it right. It is usually called an isolation room. But there are a lot of places where gloves, gowns, eye gear protection and hair or head cover and face mask. Which is the operating room. There are I think if memory serves me right levels of isolation rooms. One is just wearing a gown and gloves (also depend on what kind of virus or infection)
the other level would be wearing of mask, gowns, gloves, face mask, eye gogles.
as I said it defend or what kind of infections. Also in delivery rooms doctors nurses wear gloves, mask and gowns.

It can be called a few things. Isolation is usually what it is. It really depends on what the patient has. Is the patient contagious? Can you catch whatever the patient has by contact? If so they would say it is contact isolation. Meaning that they had to suit up before going in in order to not contract the disease and spread it. Is the patient on Chemo? Is their immune system really low? If so they would call it protective isolation. You suit up in order to protect the patient from any germs that you may be carrying. I hope that this helps

You are correct - it is called an Isolation room. There are two types of isolation. One is to protect staff and visitors and the other is reverse isolation which is to protect the patient (i.e. cancer patient on chemo with low blood count and therefore no immune system). In both cases, it's necessary to wear gloves, gowns, masks and booties.

Hi, we call it isolation or infection control. It is to protect both staff and patient alike. Nothing to get stressed over as it is all for the greater good.

it is a type of isolation, it sounds like neutropenic procaution isolation to me. Or it could be MRSA, VRE, or Airborne Isolation. All of these would require medical personel to wear a gown, only in neutropenic of airborne would they need a mask though.
