The best group I have ever seen were dressed up as the Adams family-lets see- Gomez, Morticia, Pugsly, Wednesday, Fester, Grandma, Lurch, cousin It, and Thing- thats nine- hope you like the idea!!!

this idea isn't mine, but it's good.
last year, at our annual halloween party for adults, a group of friends came as mixed cocktails.
so, sex on the beach could be covered in sand, with clothing all in disarray; a manhattan would be sophisticated, dressed in black, with a high-end new york department store shopping bag in hand; a scotch on the rocks would be wearing a kilt, standing on "rocks" (foam "rocks" adhered to shoes); if one of the friends is named jack, just put him in a coke can costume, and you get . . . "jack-(i)n-coke"; you could have fun with a fuzzy navel . . . you get the drift.

GO for greek mythology, go as the muses and the goddesses. You could do afew of each, athena, the fates, im blanking on zeus' wifes name, but theres a bunch of them, and it would be the return of mount olympus :) works well for large numbers and only afew of each of you would be almost exactly the same, so you can split it up.

you make a giant school bus out of card bored and use flashlights as head lights, then you all get in the box. saw some kids do it a few years back.
