If you are being charged so is your friend. The husband is willing to send his wife to jail? Were you just threatened with being charged or have you already been charged. If not it may be and idle threat. Is the woman just telling you this? Is she telling you this to get the money to repay it telling you that you won't get charged? Is she messing around? If it's you you have a problem. Just possibilities.

Charged or not you need a lawyer so best get one either way. A lawyer might be able to convince a DA to either not press charges or drop them. The government does not like to waste money prosecuting charges that probably won't stick........ especially if you have no record.

Hmm you signed someone else name on a check made out to them?? that is forgery lets ask some questions

---- was the check made out to you??If you signed someone else's name it is forgery

if it was made out to you - did you know that the account holder signature was forged- if so then you are quilty of fraud

If it was made out to you and you signed it? then why did it not go into your account??
yep signing someone eles's name to any thing is the very definition of forgery

how could it be anything else - can they proved it was you who forged the signtaure

man what is it with this question. if you signed someone else's name -hell yeah you are a forger

Forger - someone who signs someone elses name

THAT act IS forgery. It makes no difference if the check itself was good. YOU just admitted to forging the endorsement.
