So I went to the first day of physics class today and to my UTTER dismay, the teacher gives a seating chart on the day of an exam. Of course this wouldn't otherwise be a problem, but in this case there are about 3-4 hot girls in the class, and I REALLY don't want to be seated near any of them on exam days cause I seriously can not focus on a test if there's a hot girl nearby. So, should I ask the professor (who is young, and female) to not seat me next to any girls on exam days, or should I drop the class? I would ask, but I don't know if the reason for the specific seating would be inappropriate to tell. Does anyone have any predictions as to whether the professor would find this appropriate for me to say?

Blame it on one of the girls perfume. Tell the prof that you like the girl and all but her perfume bothers your sinuses. She'll buy that without thinking you're a sexist pig.

You have nothing to lose if you ask, however, do it VERY TACTFULLY. The worst she will do is say no.

Advice... get over this issue and do it quickly. A cute girl should in no way make you so distracted where you would need to drop a class. What will you do if this happens in a work situation? Quit? If this is really a serious issue I would suggest you seek some counseling.

Simply tell her that being next to them would be a distraction during taking exams for you and you would appreciate it if she could seat you away from them. You don't need to elaborate as to why they are a distraction, and unless your professor is a beyotch, then there is no good reason for her to inquire. If she does inquire, then simply ask her if there is a problem in filling your request. Inquiring on her part is unprofessional and just plain nosy.

I think the professor might laugh at you but you have to make it known that there is an issue for her to at least attempt to curtail it. I am no professor, but as a high school teacher, I will do the same thing- as in make sure that I put kids beside people who will NOT cause a distraction.
