Courts no longer dole out alimony when both partners are able bodied and CAN work. You might get temporary alimony until you can secure employment for yourself but that's it. The only way to get it indeffinately is if you are totally disabled and can not work. Obviously if you can use a computer to post on message boards you CAN work.

The answer to your question is yes you can! becuase of by saying this is that your husband income is greater than yours is when the both of you go to the hearing the judge is going to see that which is who's level of income will support the child or children base on what your family history of bills/cards/medical/house/etc. thats only if all of your children or a child is under the age of 15. you should see your lawyer with more information on your status of your situation because he/she will point you to the right direction.

Alimony has to do with how long you have been married and how dependent you are on the other person.

It depends on how long you have been together, and if you work or not. If you are capable of working and making a living on your own, then don't count on it.
