i don't play on a team, but i want to get much better. I can't shoot 3s and when practicing im afraid i'll miss all the shots i hit when i actually play. My left handed layup and dribbling are poor. can i get some tips and drills to help my game and game confidence.

P.S. i missed many easy buckets so i'm not confident on my shots.

Stop playing games and go practice. Layups (R & L), 10-12' shots, power dribbles, passing, catching, rebounding. Get competent instruction if you can afford it. Do these things right until you can do them correctly in your sleep. Then go play a game or two and see in what areas you are better. For the ones you're not, get back to the practice court. You develop confidence on the practice court, not in games. Get to work.

You have to practice and keep on doing that. Develop a correct way to shoot. You have to start with the basics. Start to develop the basic shots, the lay up and jump shot. You can move on later to the 3 point shot. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. It is good to practice with someone who is better than you. In the long run, you will become a better player. The key right now is to just practice. If you miss your shots, just keep on shooting. Develop a form and use it when you play in games. You will become better and gain confidence.

If I were you I would practice my shooting in a small hoop (but not the one for the toddlers) and just concentrate (that's what I did and I'm improving) so when you play with the official sized hoop you may be a a shooter...

just keep on shooting, try shooting wide open first and whenever you shoot imagine that the shot is in. This way it'll build confidence. If you miss far range, just try to get near the rim and make the easy shot so your percentage is higher that way you have more confidence too.
