Today I supposed to get my period. The symptoms usually start as being really gassy, and once I make a bowel movement, my period officially starts. Well today, just like every other month, I got those symptons. But once I used the bathroom, I found out that the blood was coming out of my butt. My bowel movement was red. What's happening to me?? Maybe this is some important that might help. I have been a vegitarian for a little bit over a month now. Is that why this is happening. Another thing is that I ate some extra flaming hot cheetos yesterday. Could that be it? What ever the problem is, it's causing me to not have my period and is making my bowel movements red. Please help. My parents don't take me to a gyno nor have I told them about this. Please help.

About becoming a vegetarian one month ago ... are you getting adequate nutrients? If you ARE, then becoming a vegetarian is NOT the reason you are not getting your period on time this month. If you are not, you may be putting your body in "conserve" mode ... you know, like those thin athletic women who run miles & miles & miles every day? Some of them don't get their periods.

Have you eaten more BEETS than usual? They can make your poop reddish in color.

Extra-flaming hot cheetos probably didn't help anything (they are nasty!) but they more than likely didn't cause your reddish poop or your lack of period.

You don't say how old/young you are, but I am thinking you are probably too young to have hemmorhoids ... unless ... you have a past history of eating junk food & being constipated ... then you might have hemmorhoids. When they are inflamed, they may bleed & you'll see blood ON your poop (not IN your poop). If you are really really constipated, you may have had a fissure, where the skin around your anus (butthole) kinda gets torn. That would cause bleeding, too.

I know it sounds gross, but have a chat with the school nurse & ask her to check & see if you have hemmorhoids. Believe me, she has "seen it all" & should not be offended.

If this (the red poop) clears up by tomorrow, keep it in the back of your mind but don't dwell on it. Eat good food (whole grains, fruit, veggies; get plenty of water & adequate rest) & let your body heal. When your body is rested & healed, you should get your periods "on time" again.

It isn't the Cheetos... Is the blood bright red? If it is, then you have probably irritated the lining of the large intestine with the unusual foods. Raw foods have a higher incidence of this than cooked ones, so try eating more cooked veggies.

Did you get any cramping that seemed unusual? That can be a signal of Irritable Bowel Syndrome or Diverticulitis. Google both of these to see if you match up.

If it continues (be it tomorrow or next month) you need to discuss the issue with the dietitian at your clinic. Call and let them ask you some questions to see if you need to be seen (which might not be a bad idea). At the very least, tell your folks about this. It may just mean you need to adjust your diet, but it might be that there is something more serious going on that is just now coming out with the new diet...

Sometimes what you eat can cause colour changes in your stool. My guess is those Cheetos you ate Had allot of colouring added to them. I'd say wait a couple more days for your period. If you're at an age where your parents would have to take you to the gyno then I would surmise that you are young enough to have some unpredictability in your period.

You could have hemmerhoids, that cause you get bleeding from your bowel movement. If I were you goes see your doctor as soon you can. Or you can get a Hemmerhoid H at drug store. It will help you to release it. That might work for you..

You need to tell your parents about this, and if you're sexually active, you need to go to a gyno as well.

It could very well be hemorrhoids.

But neither would affect your period. Your period may just be late, as teenagers tend to have irregular periods.

Maybe you have hemmerhoids that are inflamed, sometimes they bleed, you might want to tell your mother so she can take you to the doctor.

Bleeding from your rectum is not good - especially if your stools are red. You need to see a doctor.
