He's lead America into war with civilians for oil and as an excuse to pump huge profits into the military industrial complex.

Aside from that very dubious effort, he hasn't lead anything. He's sat on the sidelines of America's true interests and issues... and yawned.

I think he is about average. I think in this day and age it will take a very special person to be judged a great leader. With Conservatives and Liberals roughly evenly divided, we can pretty much count on any President to be judged an effective leader by roughly half the people. That's modern politics.

moot

we too fat, lazy and happy to care

W will go down, I am confident, as the worst President we have ever had, against some stiff competition (Bush 2, Harding, Polk, Van Beuren). The damage he has done -- diplomatic, social, financial, military -- will take generations to correct. He richly deserves to be impeached, or even tried as a war criminal. But I don't think we are up to that, for reasons cited above.

Oil went from .89 cents to $3,60 here in Chicago, and all it cost was 4,000 American lives and 20,000 injured and mangled young soldiers.

Exxon thinks Bush is a VERY EFFECTIVE leader. He follows their orders real well too.

He has been effective at destroying our good will, and standing in the world.
He has been effective at getting us into a war based on a pack of lies that has cost us near a trillion dollars and counting.
He has been effective at hacking away at our civil liberties, bringing back torture, and suspending habeas corpus .

Admittedly, not as effective as he should have been, but he also isn't the bumbling idiot some make him out to be.
