Determine the density of a proton. For a sphere V = (4/3)\pi r^3.
The proton has a radius of approximately 1.0 times 10^{ - 13} cm and a mass of 1.7 times 10^{ - 24}g
PS: i need to know how to do it step by step so i understand it..not just the answer. thanks!

m = 1.7*10^-24 g
V = (4/3)/pi*(1.0*10^-13)^3 cm^3

d=(1.7*10^-24)/((4/3)/pi*(1.0*10^-13)^3)

and now just put all that in your calculator.

Density = mass/volume.
So you have to compute the volume of a proton. You have r, so there is no great problem (it is about 4x 10*-39 cm3. So divide the mass by this volume for density. (about 4.2x10+14 g/cc). Note that the heaviest element on earth is about 21 g/cc in density, so the proton is 2x10 ^13 more dense.
