How about just putting live plants into your tank, that way the fry can hide from the parents and other fish you might have

or you can put her in a breeder box/net about 2-4 days before she gives birth

Hope that helps
Good luck

You can put her in whatever, so long as you haven't used any chemicals (like soap) in it, but you'll have to have air going in, through an air pump or filter.

As someone pointed out a 10 gallon tank is dirt cheap you could probably get a tank and filter for 30 tops.

Has it ever had chemicals in it? What did you use the tub for? I guess it MIGHT be okay as long as it has only had water in it.

Do you have a gallon jug that hasn't had anything but water in it? That would work great! You can buy a ten gallon aquarium at Wal-mart for just $10.00! You can also get one at Petsmart for $9.00.

Make sure there is plants so the babies can hide and some plants floating at the top that should do it.

Sure it would. If you don't have a filter do daily water changes, 30% each day.
