Yesterday (which dinner was, since I have taken so long to answer this) was fend for yourself night, since it was too hot to cook (42C with humidex, UGH!).
The grandsons ate first...made themselves hot beef patties in the toaster oven.
My daughters, once they got home, grilled steak for themselves and made a salad to go with it.
I didn't eat until 9 p.m., when it was much cooler, and I celebrated that fact by making myself some mushroom soup. (I love mushroom soup with roasted garlic and extra mushrooms, yummy).

I had a meatball and provolone cheese sub. I stayed later at the work site, because there was free outdoor concerts going on outside my building.
