Our last monkey ancestors were about 22 million years ago. They weren't any of the species extant today, but they were nonetheless Old World monkeys.

When I think about them, I like to picture Curious George.

We don't come from monkeys. Humans and the other 4 great apes (Chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans, bonobos) have a common ancestor.

Humans are great apes. We share about 98.5% of our DNA with Chimpanzees and Bonobos.
