Roenick signs one year deal with the Sharks:

Personally, I hate it. I hate JR. He should retire and crawl into a hole in Afghanistan.
As a Sharks fan, I hate it. He is going to take a roster spot from one of the many deserving up and coming Sharks. His contribution on the ice is pathetic for a player of his "stature". He has 20G, 30A (50pts), and is a -18 in his last 128 games (2 seasons). And im not sold on his presence in the locker room for a guy who was saying "Go Canada" in the last olympics for being left off Team USA....there was a reason for that...he's washed up. The shock of this signing is still new to me....it has my almost not wanting my Sharks to win the Cup this year.....and that is a horrible feeling. I can only hope he retires after getting to 500g or gets injured.
Your thoughts Sharks fans?

I could not agree with you more. I hate JR with a passion. He used to be a not bad player but is now washed up. The sharks should have left that roster spot open for one of their young prospects to come in to the league.

Unfortunately for you, your GM and JR are the best of friends. I've known Doug Wilson for over 30 years, and I've known Roenick for about 20. Roenick is the exact person that Ron Wilson needs to get the Sharks the cup. Roenick is a leader, he says what he means and he doesn't care how he says it, and there's a lot of truth in what he says. He's popular among the players off the ice, and respected on the ice. He'll provide the veteran leadership to this San Jose squad that Doug Wilson was able to provide in JR's early years with the Blackhawks. He's not going to score a lot of goals, and he's not going to be the go-to guy, but he'll be an integral part of that hockey club.
For those of you in Canada, during the Pittsburgh-Ottawa series, there was a shot of Roberts, Crosby, and Recchi on the bench...Roberts and Recchi were talking, and Crosby was just nodding.........taking it all in.
Roenick will provide that type of leadership to some of the young kids on this team

Im not gonna agree with "like i told.... watever" Roenick is an arrogant idiot who thinks he is a hockey god. When he was rejected 4 the olympics, I lost any respect i had for him 4 saying go Canada.
I think the sharks should bench roenick and give his spot to someone more deserving

I think that the Sharks could have done without him. He's probably just going to stir up some trash talking in the dressing room - which they don't need! Roenick is a waste of money in my opinion.

Don't worry - he'll probably slam into the boards and twist a knee or something and will be out by game 4. I'm not too crazy about the signing The bright side is that he only cost the sharks $500,000.

i don't be attentive to the information on the undergo so I won't remark on that. definite the shark replaced into doing what nature meant, however the only reason it replaced into there replaced into because of the fact San Diego city council is so frightened of being politically incorrect that extremely thanchronic off the wellness nuisance of the seals that took up place of living on the toddler's Lagoon they allowed them to stay, bringing their organic predator into exceptionally populated and widespread swimming and surfing factors. The shark could be hunted down and destroyed. I propose utilizing the city council as bait!

J.R. is past his prime but still might be able to bring some pluses to the team...uuuuummmmmm....????????? Not alot of points, some complaining and a 4th line player....This is not the dynamic Roenick who broke in with the Blackhawks but a mere shadow of his former self......What he definitely will bring with him is attitude....When current G.M. of the Hawks Dale Tallon was asked if he was interested in J.R. he stated "absolutely not." This statement alone is worth it's weight considering how horrible the Hawks have been the last few years....

I agree with Like I'm Telling You. JR has the heart of a lion to go with that leadership.
Also, it seems quite often in the finals we have the story of the old player who has never won a Cup, like Bourque, Selanne. It could be a good luck charm in that sense and young guys feed off of it, trying to get the old guy his cup before retirement.
