Gabriella... oh Gabriella
Are you all right my dear?
I am so sorry you got hurt. It is all my fault.
I was running, not for the purpose of getting away from that terrifying Grizzly, but rather to draw the bear to me, and protect you.
But you see... I love you
And I cannot stand the thought of you getting hurt.
Yes, I know it may not seem like that, but it is true.
Its just that... my first love will always be the adventure, the great hike, the hunt.
(long dramatic pause)
I must leave you
To Europe on an great expedition of my very own
But... I will return to you one day
And we will live happily ever after, with all the money, food, and love we’ll ever need and more
(sigh)
I hate to leave you... like this!, but I believe in destiny
And knowing you, you will be up on your feet in no time
We will link again someday
Farewell

I think it stinks! Choose something appropriate to you from a play.

I didn't feel a connection between Gabriella and the speaker at all.

I seriously doubt that he has any love for her as shown in , "We will link again someday." There isn't any feeling for her there in his heart.

The word "But" in But you see... I love you seems wrong. Possibly "For you see..."

Anyway... if you meant for him to be an uncaring heartless bast@rd, then this hit the mark. If not, then not for me.

g-day!
